1. About these terms
These terms are an agreement between you and Petand Technologies Ltd (“we”, “us”), for your use of the UN & NGO Jobs app and the website unjobsapp.org (together, “the service”). By downloading or using the service, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
2. What the service does
The service collects publicly available job vacancies from the United Nations, NGOs, International Financial Institutions, Multilateral Organizations and other sources, and helps you search, save, track and get alerts about them.
We are not an employer, recruiter or employment agency. We do not take part in any hiring decision and cannot help you get a particular job. You apply directly through each organization’s official recruitment website.
The service is not affiliated with or endorsed by the United Nations or any organization whose jobs it lists. UN job listings are sourced from careers.un.org. Organization names are used only to identify where a job comes from, and they belong to their owners.
3. Job information
Job postings come from third-party websites we do not own or control. Postings can change, close early or contain errors, and our copy may not be up to date. Before applying, always check the job on the organization’s official site, including the deadline, eligibility and how to apply.
Genuine UN agencies and most NGOs never charge fees to apply or to be hired. If a posting asks you for money, do not pay it, and please report it to the authorities.
We are not responsible for third-party websites, their content or their privacy practices, or for any loss that results from relying on a job posting.
4. AI-powered features
Plain-words search, the At a glance summary and the For you feed use artificial intelligence (Anthropic’s Claude). These features can misread your request, leave out important conditions or suggest jobs that do not fit you. They are aids, not advice. Check filled-in search fields, and read the full original posting before you decide to apply.
5. Your data, tracker and backups
Saved jobs, application-tracker statuses, notes, alerts and filters are stored on your device. Optional cloud backup saves a copy in your own Google Drive on Android, or your own iCloud on iPhone and iPad, under Google’s or Apple’s terms. You are responsible for keeping backups you rely on. We are not responsible for data lost if you uninstall the app, change device without restoring, or delete your backup. How we handle personal information is explained in our Privacy Policy.
Calendar reminders and notifications are a convenience. Always keep track of important deadlines yourself.
6. Fair use
We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the app on devices you own or control. You agree not to:
- copy, scrape, crawl or bulk-download job data from the service, or resell or republish it
- reverse engineer, decompile or modify the app, except where the law allows
- interfere with, overload or try to gain unauthorized access to the service or its servers
- use the service for anything unlawful, misleading or harmful, or to send spam
- remove or hide ads by tampering with the app instead of buying “Remove ads”
7. Ads and in-app purchases
The free version of the app shows ads. You can buy “Remove ads” as an in-app purchase. Google Play or the Apple App Store processes all payments, and their terms, including refunds, apply. To move your purchase to a new device, use Restore purchases in the app with the same store account.
If you are under 18, you need permission from a parent or guardian before making a purchase. Parents can use device and store parental controls to manage purchases.
8. Our content and trademarks
The app, its design, software, text and the UN & NGO Jobs name and icon belong to Petand Technologies Ltd. These terms do not give you any right to use them except to use the service. Job postings remain the property of the organizations that published them.
9. Disclaimers
The service is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the extent the law allows, we make no promises that it will be uninterrupted or error-free, that job information or AI output is accurate or complete, or that you will find or be offered a job. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer protection laws that cannot be excluded.
10. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential loss, or for lost opportunities, lost data or lost earnings, arising from your use of the service. Our total liability to you for any claim related to the service is limited to the amount you paid us for “Remove ads” in the 12 months before the claim, or USD 10 if you paid nothing. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot legally be limited.
11. Suspension and ending these terms
You can stop using the service at any time by uninstalling the app. We may suspend or restrict access if you break these terms or misuse the service. We may also change, pause or discontinue the service or any feature. Sections 3, 8, 9, 10 and 13 continue to apply after these terms end.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the service changes. We will change the “Last updated” date above. For material changes, we will try to give at least 30 days’ notice in the app or on this website. If you keep using the service after changes take effect, you accept the updated terms.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the country where Petand Technologies Ltd is registered, and disputes will be handled by the courts of that country, unless the law of the country where you live gives you the right to bring proceedings there.
14. Apple App Store
If you downloaded the app from the Apple App Store, these terms are between you and Petand Technologies Ltd only, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the app or its content, and has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for it. If the app fails to meet any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple for a refund of any purchase price, and Apple has no other warranty obligation. Apple is not responsible for any claims relating to the app, including product liability, legal or regulatory compliance, consumer protection or intellectual property claims. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you. Where these terms conflict with Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement, Apple’s terms apply to the extent of the conflict.
